JOB TITLE: Area Sales Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Sales Department
SUPERVISOR: Area Director of Sales
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Assists Area Director of Sales in all facets of the sales/marketing/service process by typing, copying, faxing, mailing, distributing and filing related correspondence as well as answering and responding appropriately to incoming telephone calls.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
50% Enters data to produce contracts, correspondence, forms, memorandums, sales software and property management system updates, and other documents.- 25% Answers telephone and responds to caller inquiries. Exercises decision-making skills to direct callers based on requests. Accurately records and distributes messages. Communicates with other hotel associates to relay pertinent sales related information.
- 15% Organizes, files, distributes, emails, faxes, and other essential functions necessary in the daily department operation.
- 5% Act's as liaison between Area Director of Sales and clients in Area Director of Sales absence.
- Knowledgeable of brand standards, service standards, guest expectations.
MANDITORY JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Good communication skills, both written and oral.
- Excellent organizational skill, multitasking skill.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to input data into computer at a minimum rate of 40 w.p.m.
- Basic secretarial knowledge such as business letters, formats, and telephone etiquette.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Error-proof correspondence.
- Work completed in a timely fashion.
EXPERIENCE OR TRAINING REQUIRED:
Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, typing, and communication skills and abilities. High school diploma required. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.

- Ability to assist in other departments when necessary.
